As per the latest news, Indian Railways have started making preparation to welcome devotees all across the country to attend the country’s mega religious event Kumbh Mela, 2021 starting soon from 14 January 2021. The Railways have announced that it will run 35 special trains in January to accommodate millions to reach Haridwar latest by 14 January to participate in auspicious Kumbh Mela scheduled till 27th April 2021.
According to Vikram Samvat Calendar, the event will start with a religious dip in the holy water of the River Ganges on 14 January 2021 followed by four Shahi Snans on dates March 11, 2021(Thursday); April 12, 2021(Monday); April 14, 2021(Wednesday) & April 27, 2021(Tuesday).
The Railway Administration has devised crowd management application software to be installed at Railway Station to help travelers while they follow social distancing norms in Haridwar.
The App will help Train travelers while they stay at Haridwar. Downloading the App will not only help Travelers to book a guest house in Haridwar but also help them enquire on the status of their PNR, the way towards enquiry counters, locate exit gates while they head towards River Ganges, status on all crowded roads to avoid & how to reach Har ki Pauri (River Ganges Bank) for holy water dip in shortest travel time.
Along with 35 Special Trains, Indian Railways will also run 24 Regular Trains for devotees connecting Mathura with Prayagraj via Katra, Rishikesh & Haridwar. To delight more devotees, Indian Railways will inaugurate a new Railway Station “Yog Nagri” in Rishikesh before Kumbh Mela on 14 January 2021 which will have three spacious platforms.
To add more charm, the much-awaited Laksar-Haridwar rail link has also been doubled for travelers to help them reach Haridwar in lesser time now.
The Rishikesh Railway Station has been made ready with Bio toilets and Herbal Parks for Kumbh Mela devotees at Railway Stations.
Meanwhile, the circulating area at Haridwar Railway Station has been expanded with an increased number of Government Railway Police deployment and Railway Protection Force at platforms. The cleanliness drive at all the stations is also being done on high priority to make devotees’ journey unmatchable.
From now on, the devotees would also receive the SMS inquiry facility at their registered Mobile Number.
