2. Redevelopment of CSMT Mumbai Railway Station
The total construction cost of the redevelopment of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) is estimated around 1800 Crore. The CSMT railway station in Mumbai is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) had taken the responsibility of redeveloping this indian railway station by providing all the top-notch facilities for the passengers.
This redevelopment includes facilities like a waiting lounge, food court, creating beautiful and spacious roof plazas and few facilities for disabled persons. The New Delhi Railway Station is one of the most popular Indian railway stations for being in the capital of the country. The Ministry of Indian Railways and the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) had taken the responsibility for redevelopment of this Indian railway station. The construction cost of redevelopment of this station is estimated at approx 4,925 INR-Crore. According to the sources the RLDA had appointed a company named Tractebel as a technical consultant and Architect for developing the master plan for the reconstruction of this railway station.
The main idea behind the reconstruction of this Indian railway station is to provide the top-notch facilities for the railway passengers. It also ensures more space in the station for maintaining smooth entry and exit from the station.
5.Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project in Bangalore
The Government of Karnataka and the Ministry of Railways had taken the initiative to redevelop and implement the 148-km line Suburban network for providing better transportation solutions for the passengers. This rail project in Bengaluru has total four corridors as mentioned below:
Baiyappanahalli – Chikkabanavara (25.14 km), KSR Bengaluru – Devanahalli (41 km), Kengeri – Whitefield ( 35.52 km) and Heelalige – Rajankunte (46.24 km).
