Safety Scheme For Women

Indian Railways always introduces safety scheme for Women, trains and programs for maintaining better transportation facilities for the passengers. In India a large number of people prefer train journeys instead of flight ones because train journeys provide ultimate comfort and convenience at less cost. Although trains are safe and secure for traveling, many other things also happen in trains. By knowing the current scenario of our country, we can’t ignore the fact that women are not safe anywhere in our country. Hence, Indian Railways had introduced a very good initiative named operation “Meri Saheli”. Hence, in this blog we are going to discuss all the important information about the Meri Saheli initiative launched by Indian Railways.

Meri Saheli initiative: Railways Launches Advanced Safety Scheme For WomenSafety Scheme For Women

Indian Railways had introduced this amazing women-centric initiative for ensuring the safe and secure traveling experiences for the female passengers. We all understand the fact that female passengers always face eve teasing and other misbehavior activities by some unmannered male passengers. In order to provide safety to females during the train journey, India Railways has taken the important step of introducing this amazing program.

When was the Meri Saheli Operation launched?

The most amazing program meri saheli initiative was launched on 29th of October in 2020. This operation was an integral part of the Ministry of Railways and the RPF is taking lead in the implementation of this amazing program. Safety Scheme for Women offers dedicated helplines, CCTV monitoring, and enhanced patrolling, ensuring a secure environment for female travelers during their train journeys.

How does the Meri Saheli Operation help female passengers?

As we discussed earlier, the meri saheli initiative aims to provide safety scheme for women and secure traveling experience for female passengers. Hence, in this program the female police called “Yatri Mitras” are always present on the selected trains in order to assist women travelers. Female passengers always face bad behaviour by co-passengers or other outside passengers during the night time. Hence, according to this initiative, the female police will always be there for the help of female passengers whenever they need it.

These “Yatri Mitras” will help the female passengers in many aspects such as helping them in safe and secure boarding and alighting, helping them on the train journey during any kind of emergencies and providing them correct information and support. These female police will act and respond to them like a friend and make them feel comfortable while travelling via train.

Hence, Indian Railways deserves a lot of appreciation for launching this amazing program in order to consider safety Scheme For Women during the train journey. We all understand that in our country some cruel people always find opportunities to misbehave with females but at the same time the police department and Indian Government are always there for women’s safety.
