In order to enhance the railway infrastructure for train passengers, Indian Railways had taken steps for the construction of the Anwarganj-Mandhana elevated railway track. Apart from that, due to being quite inactive Indian Railways had decided to discontinue two Stations in Kanpur Rawatpur and Kalyanpur railway station that is in Kanpur. Indian Railways had also decided to construct a new railway stations in kanpur full of several facilities. This new railway station will be constructed near the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJM). This railway station will be named after former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Indian Railways to Close Two Stations in Kanpur

In order to facilitate the construction of a new railway station the train traffic on this particular route will remain permanently suspended for two years. It is also decided that the essential trains will be diverted to other alternative routes. It is also decided that the new Atal Bihari Vajpayee railway station will be full of top-class facilities for the passengers. It is decided in a meeting that the Kanpur Electricity Supply Company (KESCO) will reroute the high-power electricity in order to run the panel of railway tracks. It is expected that the elevated railway lines will surely resolve the daily traffic problems caused by group-level tracks.
